Fun, hot and romantic: Her Confessional + giveaway

You can't go wrong with a romantic serial that reads like a diary and combines wit and love ;o)

My opinion of Her Confessional, part 1

With a very easygoing style, the story flows seamlessly like Sarah is talking directly to you in a friendly conversation. I liked it a lot. It felt natural, funny and honest. I quickly became ensnared in her recount of her gorgeous, chubby self, her job, her crush on her best friend who happens to be kind, handsome and sweet. As he's also a talented actor, Sarah lets us know all the details of how he finally became famous. Those details go back and forth in time so it makes for a very dynamic storytelling.

The good, friendly times between the characters felt nice and made me smile. Whereas the passionate times made my heart throb, there was emotional friction as well that pulled at the strings of that very heart. Sarah is fully in love with a man who's unattainable but they still have to work together. What a wonderful mess to read, right? ;o)

For a short story, the characters and their motivations are fully developed. The story is well written, sexy, romantic even, and it really arouses an emotional response. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment to find out if this couple has any future against the mayhem of Hollywood's public life.

Synopsis: ** 18,000 word novella, part one of an ongoing series **

Her Confessional is a sexy new romance series told from the point of view of Sarah Travers, a smart, happy, plus-size heroine who explores - through a series of written confessions - what happens when the best friend she's secretly in love with becomes the world's most famous actor overnight.

Hi, I’m Sarah, a plus-size 33-year-old single woman with an amazing job as a personal assistant to a major Hollywood director. My best friend? His name is Cameron. Here’s a secret for you, something I’ve never told anyone else before: I’m in love with him. Truly, madly, deeply. I know. Bad idea, right? But that’s not even the worst of it. My biggest problem? I’m not the only one. You see, Cameron just landed the role of a lifetime and now millions of other women fancy themselves in love with him too. But this isn’t their story; it’s mine. My confessional.

The Making of a Star is the first installment in the series.

After twelve years in the business, with the unwavering support of her husband, she quit her job to pursue writing full time. Rebecca lives in Oakland, California, with her husband and cat. When not creating fictional worlds inhabited by strong women, and dashing heroes, she is planning her next vacation, trying out new recipes, or drinking Islay scotch.
