I'm Playing for Keeps + givewaway

I had to know how this story ended. Finally, I could! Have you read this serial, book buddies? :o)

Playing For Keeps Tour Banner

MY OPINION

Very emotional finale. It was hard to go through all the complex repercussions of keeping this couple's relationship secret from the media. It took a toll on both Cameron and Sarah, and they acted so wounded that my heart was a bit torn. The poor woman felt lonely, neglected, and downright abandoned by Cameron's aloof attitude. I confess I resented him all through that time.

Thank goodness there was a plot twist when they could rekindle their beautifully romantic bond. I loved the declarations of love after so much sacrifice on both their parts.

The narrative is descriptive, with lots of space for inner musings. They show in detail how public image in Hollywood is perceived and handled. both characters grow through hard lessons. I really enjoyed the times when they find and cherish a place that will become very special to them. Despite the fact that I was disappointed in Cameron a few times, he certainly makes up for it with beautiful gestures and declarations.

This is a very thorough, comprehensive, romantic and sexy finale to an interesting serial about the price of fame.

Synopsis: After months of hiding their engagement to promote a farcical PR relationship tied to Cameron's new movie, Sarah is struggling to remind herself of the benefits of the plan – if only she can make it that long. Having just about reached their breaking point, Cameron proposes a romantic weekend away to re-connect with one another but their boss has a better idea: a two-week trip away from the prying eyes of Hollywood and the PR team’s aggressive gossip machine.
Once out of the Hollywood spotlight, Cameron reverts back to the loving, attentive man Sarah first fell in love with and idyllic days spent hiking, biking, and surfing lead to sensual nights wrapped in each other’s arms. But when a gossip columnist viciously pegs Sarah as “the other woman,” they’re forced to acknowledge the reality of their situation. Vowing to beat the studio at its own game, Sarah and Cameron openly flaunt their relationship, knowing their actions may mean giving up the careers they both love. With help from some new friends along the way, Cameron and Sarah re-discover what matters most as they work to find their happily ever after.

  *NOTE*
This is the third and final part in the Her Confessional serial.

MY OPINION

Stardom, secrets, seedy Hollywood politics, and unabashedly sexy romance fill up the pages of this wonderful continuation of Her Confession.

Admittedly, I felt a bit afraid for this couple-in-the-making. Gorgeous actor Cameron and smart, curvy Sarah go from long-term friendship to wild lovemaking in a meteoric short time. Theirs is a path full of challenges and fears, but I really enjoyed how awkwardly but sweetly they try to face the new reality of their relationship.

It's actually quite tough to digest the pressure of the outside world, of society's expectations or the price of fame. When love has to be kept a secret, it takes its toll. And the author does a good job of describing the exhilaration of the good parts, and the tension of the bad parts.

So I felt bad for both of them. They're struggling to make their dreams come true while staying true to their feelings for each other. I liked the way Sarah mulls over the pros and cons, sometimes giving in to insecurities, but mostly believing in what she is building with Cameron. And, of course, I loved, loved the extremely romantic, scorching hot intimacy between them. Wow.

I'm really keen on what is to happen in the next installment. It's going to be tough, yes, but worth it too, I'm sure.

Fun, hot and romantic: Her Confessional + giveaway

You can't go wrong with a romantic serial that reads like a diary and combines wit and love ;o)

My opinion of Her Confessional, part 1

With a very easygoing style, the story flows seamlessly like Sarah is talking directly to you in a friendly conversation. I liked it a lot. It felt natural, funny and honest. I quickly became ensnared in her recount of her gorgeous, chubby self, her job, her crush on her best friend who happens to be kind, handsome and sweet. As he's also a talented actor, Sarah lets us know all the details of how he finally became famous. Those details go back and forth in time so it makes for a very dynamic storytelling.

The good, friendly times between the characters felt nice and made me smile. Whereas the passionate times made my heart throb, there was emotional friction as well that pulled at the strings of that very heart. Sarah is fully in love with a man who's unattainable but they still have to work together. What a wonderful mess to read, right? ;o)

For a short story, the characters and their motivations are fully developed. The story is well written, sexy, romantic even, and it really arouses an emotional response. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment to find out if this couple has any future against the mayhem of Hollywood's public life.
