Hi, book buddies. I have a penchant for steamy romantic stories. I do. Not ashamed of that. So when I came across the opportunity to read and review this novella, I didn't hesitate a bit. And I was rewarded with an experience even better than I expected.

Nathan and Camille are complete opposites: he, the Iceman, all for control and no emotional attachments. Too dangerous for him. There's a reason for that self-imposed shield and she's going to find out why.

She's a hacker, a born-and-bred hippie. She's never conformed to rules nor lack of love. The sexy, aloof executive is going to prove difficult to crack, but she's in for the challenge. In the process is all the fun!

I was beyond tempted by this novella. The intimate encounters are openly brazen, but there's a touching love story in here too. Even though the descriptions are graphic, they are also unbelievably tender due to the fact that a relationship is developing between two people who really need each other.

I was drawn to the author's writing style. Her voice is provocative and sensorial just like Camille. What a lovely character! I've absolutely fallen in love with her non-conformist, free-spirited personality. She's smart, challenging, compassionate and so likeable! And Nate, oh, the Iceman. He's the puzzle every woman wants to solve.

I loved it when Nate didn't know how to cope with Camille's unpredictable attitude. It was very exciting to watch their relationship bloom from unresolved fears to a perfect, thrilling fit. 

This is one of those books of which I'd be happy to have a print copy, so that I could touch it, feel it and just open on a random page and be joyful all over again.

As I told you when Sinful Rewards was out (my crazy opinion here), I'm hooked, booked and madly tempted by this serial. So no surprise that I bring you the second part in all its glorious colour ;o)

MY OPINION OF SINFUL REWARDS 2

Arousing and enveloping are two words I'd always use to describe Cynthia Sax's writing. It's like a warm spell that makes you forget the outside world and teases you into the private world her characters live in. I'm very fond of the author's slow-burning, meticulous building of the mood and tension.

Let's see what's in store for us in the second part of this sizzling, unusual serial.

Proud and inebriated with happiness for her new, red leather purse, Bee Carter sets her mind to securing the full-time job that will validate her talents and commitment. She's optimistic, particularly motivated by her mysterious admirer who keeps issuing his naughty challenges.

Nicholas proves to be both sweet and infuriatingly aloof, but Bee's real problem lies in the infinitely tempting Hawke.

Belinda is in a constant struggle with herself. She needs security, she needs forever, and steady billionaire Nicholas represents that. I'm afraid, though, that I'm terribly partial to Hawke. That man is like the blazing Sun turned into a hot, enticing god in the flesh.

Despite my possibly wrong early choice, this dichotomy of Bee's desires is really fun to read about. She's torn between practical and fantasy. Aren't we all? That's what makes this story so "rewarding".

My favourite scene: first kiss, oh, my.

I'm hooked on: the friendship between Bee and Cindy, funny and warm

My only complaint: it was too short, I bumped into the end and felt hurt :o(

Paying Attention Is Sexy

One Valentine’s Day, my dear wonderful hubby went to our local library and spent two hours reading the backs of romance novels, picking out the stories he thought I’d like. When he gave me the borrowed books, he explained why he thought they’d appeal to me. This present didn’t cost him a cent yet it is one of my favorites. Why? Because it showed he was paying attention to me while I chattered about the stories I love. THAT is sexy.

Hawke, one of the heroes in Sinful Rewards, also pays attention to the woman he adores. He knows nothing about fashion, has no interest in clothes, yet he listens closely to Bee as she tells him about a designer purse, noting what she likes and doesn’t like. This attention is intoxicating and, when Nicolas, his rival, doesn’t share his interest, Bee notices.

Nicolas redeems himself when he acts on everything Bee suggests. She tells him to disclose his name when he calls, to not assume the person he calls recognizes his voice. He discloses his name when he calls. She tells him to pick people up at their workplace, not on a street corner. He picks her up at her workplace. She sends him an article on how to be a good friend. He reads this article and follows the so-called rules.

Days later, both of these hunkilicious men refer to Bee’s words, reinforcing that they paid attention AND remembered. I can imagine that, years from now, they’ll have a long list of shared memories and inside jokes. My hubby and I have so many of these that loved ones claim we speak a different language. All he has to do is say a certain word and we’ll both remember an incident in our past, laughing our fool heads off.

Nicolas and Hawke don’t simply pay attention to Bee’s words. Hawke notes how she touches him and how she touches herself, learning how she likes to be held, kissed, caressed. When he finally gets the opportunity to touch her, he makes few mistakes, kissing her senseless, driving her crazy with desire.

The whole concept of SINFUL REWARDS got me hooked. Wouldn't it be delightfully wicked that we could get a treat for every sexy daring we pulled off? Such a tantalizing idea.

A good girl, a hard-working but lonely good girl, Bee Carter fantasies about a Prince Charming who will offer her a forever. Nothing will stop her from avoiding the kind of poor, unloved life her mother led because of a one-night mistake.

Belinda, you and I share more than a name. It's your endearing tendency to daydream about the fairy-tale quality of your fantasies as opposed to gritty, unfair, dream-shattering real life.

We share that longing for fair game, for just situations, for people to behave toward us as if they could instantly recognise our true nature. Which is that we are deserving of their interest, their care, their loyalty.

I adore the author's writing style. It's funny, captivating, true to character. She's capable of sucking the reader into the characters' minds and personalities with such ease. The dialogues are so witty!

Bee is a very relatable girl with dreams that make you warm to her as much as her mistakes.

And the men the author creates... purely unavoidable. Strong, implacably irresistible, meltingly sexy.

Even though I can't feel sorry for Bee not owning big expensive purses, I do understand her insecurities. Feeling isolated and small because everything around her is better than what she has, knowing that whatever she does she will never achieve enough status not to be humiliated by others, makes me want to soothe her and cheer her up. After all, she's worth more than money.

She's smart and motivated. She proves it time and again at work, with her friend Cindy, and the decisions she makes regarding men. That's when the game begins. A mysterious stranger sends her a note asking for a private dare that she must accomplish, a very sensuous dare, and if she does, she will get rewarded in a very unusual, personalised way.

Wonderfully wicked, Sinful Rewards part I explores the topic of voyeurism. Where it may stem from, why it turns the female protagonist so much. It does this wrapped up in a story about a woman who struggles between what her mind wants and what her forbidden desires claim. It's the story of a woman caught between two choices and the two men who represent them. And what's a good girl to do when the reward for naughty behaviour is so sinfully good? ;o)

Belinda “Bee” Carter is a good girl; at least, that’s what she tells herself. And a good girl deserves a nice guy—just like the gorgeous and moody billionaire Nicolas Rainer. He is everything she wants in a man.
