MY OPINION OF APRIL - CALENDAR GIRL
Such an
addictive serial. The author keeps surprising me with her assorted adventures.
Not one is the same as another. This time, Mia confronts a baseball player
that's all about manwhore antics, but that doesn't deter Mia. She's full of
snark and comebacks that disarm everyone around her.
I'm fond of
the way the author presents each new male character in the stories, and then
slowly changes the reader's view on him as she paints his true personality and
his circumstances. April's man is Mason, hot and cocky. What secrets is he
harbouring that will show him as human?
I confess
that my heart flutters only for Mia's first interest, Wes. A nasty surprise
catches Mia and I unaware. Hopefully, they will be able to survive this bump in
their love road.
Despite that
worrisome aspect, Mia seizes the moment with the wit and determination that
define her. I absolutely loved the plot that included a seemingly impossible
romance, and an homage to family values that came along as an exciting event
full of hotness. It was awesome to read and as much fun as the rest of the
witty novella. What's more, there was an unexpected appearance of a beloved
character that blew my mind with its sensual consequences.
I happily
enjoyed this installment, including its bittersweet ending and its always
convincing life lessons. Again, this novella is a clear example of this whole
series that combine light-hearted fun, entertaining ideas, and toe-curling
sexiness with a touch of drama and a bright future for all the months to come.
