I think it's
quite sexy to write a series of stories around the many aspects of love
embodied by Greek Gods. So far, I've only read the fifth novella, DEMON OF ENVY, by Jennifer Lynne, but the rest of them cater
to all kinds of couples. Very original.
This one in
particular is about a wayward son of Aphrodite who has been banished to the
darkest of places because he harbours the destructive demon of envy within his
flesh. Aroused from the shadows by the aching loneliness of a mortal woman, he
appears to her first in dreams and then in glorious physical form. I promise
that all along I was picturing the actor from the TV series The Arrow. So
gorgeous! And he performs such steamy action in here! ;o)
In a very
sensual and descriptive style, the author connects these twisted souls in a
journey to discover pleasure, trust, forgiveness, and hope. He could destroy
anyone if his demon isn't controlled. She fears too much pain, the one that
derives from trusting the wrong person. Together, they find they can love each
other's beauty as much as their flaws and secrets.
It's a short,
but wildly imaginative and arousing novella that's perfect for that moment
you're itching for daring, paranormal romance in a nutshell.
Demon of Envy
(Gods of Love)
by Jennifer
Lynne
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Phthonos, god of envy and jealousy, has been given a second chance
at life and love in the mortal realm. He is desperate to make up for the
mistakes of his past. But is Thon more demon than god? And if the demon Envy
wins out, how will this lonely god ever find room in his heart for love?
Olivia is an ordinary woman living an ordered life, but at
thirty-two true romance appears to have eluded her. Everywhere she looks people
are in relationships or falling in love, but her career as an administrator and
her charity work are enough to keep the demon of envy at bay.
Or so she thinks…until the moment he turns up on her doorstep with
a demand that rips her life and her heart wide open and leaves her at risk of
eternal torment.
DEMON OF ENVY is the fifth novella in the GODS OF LOVE series, but
each story is designed as a stand-alone with the Greek gods of desire as a
common theme. The series can be read in any order.
