I played The Billionaire Game 3 + giveaway

Another favourite series to my treasure trove, book buddies! :o) I love it when it happens. THE BILLIONAIRE GAME, by Lila Monroe, is a jewel waiting to be discovered. I read-loved part 1 and part 2, so now it's time to consummate the deed.

My opinion of The Billionaire Game, part 3

The mother of all battles in on! While Kate valiantly wallows in betrayal and viciously denies Asher a glimpse of her, he pursues a change to explain why he broke her heart. Again, I could feel all the wild emotions at the same time I had incredible fun. The author just knows the trick to pull fun out of a painful disaster.

No wonder Asher gets exasperated with Kate's unrelenting attitude towards him because she's stubborn to hell and back which makes for hilarious conversations and provocative yet angry encounters.

Of course, I supported Kate wholeheartedly, but in a tiny romantic part of my poor wounded heart I also rooted for lying, handsome Asher. He seemed to be  genuinely in pain to connect with Kate again. Though other times I just wanted to slap the infuriating man in the face. He should have showed his romantic feelings for Kate because there were times he didn't seem to have any beyond guilt. The poor woman was floundering with so much stress and not a gift of love in her life. That is until a heart-warming speech that left as breathless as Kate.

Oh, how frustrating it was all this battle-dance they kept. It was totally worth it when we get that hot, heart-melting finale that's dripping with romance and sensuality. Though I must admit I'd have liked them to have a deeper, longer conversation before they just jumped to a happily ever after. 

In conclusion, a fantastically written romance with an outrageously original theme that comes loaded with fun.

MY OPINION OF PART 2

If you want to have fun with your romance, you just have to read this. The writing style is so dynamic and creative that the pages fly like a Concorde.

Kate's knowledge of fabrics and lingerie designs is awesome. I like her passion and I really wanted her to succeed in achieving her dream of an exclusive shop. As Asher and Kate raise hell with their constant verbal battles, I couldn't help but grin and shake my head. Though what I actually wanted was to see some real action of what was happening in Kate's head. She wants this man, though he's acting in a baffling way, all mysterious and secretive.

I enjoyed their clashing as much as the moments they spend being honest and a little warmer. Kate is super fun, but she doesn't trust a playboy like Asher. Even though both of us want to so much!

Despite his playboy ways, I'm starting to like Asher a lot, and not only for his looks. In this second part, he's almost adorable, but only when he's not infuriatingly exasperating. I love the chapter when he helps Kate unwound from all the anxiety of preparing for the shop launching. Don't be naughty. There is no hidden meaning in that stress-killing strategy ;o)

Yet all the (im)patient wait till the feast of the senses we've been craving for finally gets its noble reward. Well, nothing noble about hot, panting, explosive one-on-one activities. So I was understandably shocked at that horrifying ending that I hope and pray will be solved in part 3 in a dignified manner. I need my happy ending!

Asher was ticking off a list of details on his fingers. “We still need to get this space completely renovated and set-dressed, finalize the last hirings of additional people to produce your designs, finalize your launch collection, register trademarks, and establish the company on paper.” He frowned. “I feel like I’m forgetting something. Oh yes! Contact the press.”

Meanwhile, my lust had been completely overridden by blind panic.

“Slow down, Flash Gordon,” I tried to joke, doing my best to keep my hands and voice from shaking with anxiety as I responded.

Usually making a reference to Asher’s secret geekiness was good for about a half hour of him condescendingly explaining how I’d mangled or misconstrued said reference, but today he just laughed, leaning back against the wall in an unfairly relaxed posture. “Feeling the pressure?”

There were deep sea divers who were feeling less pressure than I was. “Oh, only every second of every day. Dammit, Asher, I’m up to my eyeballs in work and I don’t have the first idea how to go about doing half the things you just said!”

It cost me to admit that, but I couldn’t endanger my dream for the sake of my pride.

I'm into this Billionaire Game + giveaway

Hot billionaires are still attractive, right? Mmm, I'll go with a nod. So here is the man in the flesh, or at least, in book shape. Have fun!

My opinion of part 1

I was quickly drawn in by the witty writing style. It is funny and ironic, full of energy. Then, the female character felt like I could really bond with her. She's smart, driven by her creative ambition. I felt proud of her accomplishments because  she loves what she does, and her commitment to her designs is true and inspired.

Throughout all her snarky comments, she also fights her growing lust for a certain playboy who brings his girlfriends to try out new lingerie outfits. I liked it a lot that she acknowledges her carnal weakness, but never gives in to temptation. And Asher Young is a tempting man, believe me. It's very funny to see him, gorgeous and full of himself, get ever more incredulous at her sassy attitude.

As I was reading about Katie's problems with men, family and business, I couldn't help but laugh and shake my head at the ingenious absurdity of it all. I loved it. I was half awed, half crazy-curious about this unstoppable woman with a vision and a totally unapologetic sense of humour and dry wit who can fascinate an impressive, hot billionaire who's never met anyone like her. I loved their original business meeting and how wonderfully sexy it derails. 

The plot is appealing and dynamic, the writing is amazing, and the sexy couple-in-the-making is absolutely addictive. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this fashion/love venture is going. Count me in!

There was a little whisper of worry in the back of my mind that said I still didn’t know who the real Asher was: was it the sweet man who reassured me that he believed in me, and joked about his own failings? Or the condescending, flirty asshole who had three girlfriends but still couldn’t keep his sly winks and hands to himself?

I looked around the store and as the anticipation bubbled up inside me, I realized that it didn’t matter. This whole venture was a risk, especially with Asher, but there was no way I was going to say no. Not when this was what I had always wanted.

“Okay,” I said out loud. “You’ve got a deal.”

Now, all I had to do was make it through this business partnership without killing him, kissing him, or both.
