What a sexy little adventure! I was eagerly awaiting
to read THE VIGILANTE'S LOVER, by Annie Winters and Tony West, because… how can you say no to an escaped convict who knows
his way around silk ropes?
Well, honestly, I was fascinated by the premise of a
woman who’s tempted into sending letters to a man in prison. She reads a letter
that’s full of weird but enticing references to bondage. Little does she expect
that a man will appear in her bedroom in the middle of the night demanding an
explanation. She can only squirm, bewildered and dangerously aroused by the
promise of adventure.
I really enjoyed myself with so many things about this
first part. Not only there’s an innocent heroine in distress who wants to taste
freedom for the first time in her life, but also a remarkable context around
the hero’s character.
He was a Vigilante, part of a world-wide organization
that controls governments, but is now in disgrace. It was pleasantly surprising
and gripping the amount of technology and security used and it actually
reminded me of a 007 atmosphere. It made it all the more original and enriched
the plot with mystery, conspiracies, espionage and betrayal at every turn.
Then, the relationship. Oh, my, call the firefighters.
Jax is one sexy James Bond. And Mia is the perfect inexperienced young woman
who’s longing for excitement. Of course, he takes her for a Mata Hari and
distrusts her all the way till the end, but be ready for plenty of sexy, edgy
situations between a commanding, distrustful fugitive and his enduring kidnapped
captive. They set about to find out why Jax was framed while he drags her
around taking her for a spy. Danger, secret codes and facilities, action, and
lots of sensual promise.
I’m so happy I read this story but I’m dying here to
read the next action-packed, hopefully hotter second episode!
Spies,
vengeance, and one seriously well-dressed man
"If Bourne dressed like Bond and acted like Grey, you'd have Jax De
Luca."
An addictive new romantic suspense series from the desk of USA Today
bestselling author Deanna Roy/JJ Knight
Mia trembles as she reads the letter that arrives from Ridley Prison.
Seduction. Bondage ropes. Descriptions of things Mia has never experienced or
known.
The man’s words are desperately passionate. He longs for a woman who must have
given him a fake address. Mia’s address.
She plans to send the letter back. He’s a convicted felon.
But his words gnaw at her. She’s never done anything dangerous. And no man has
ever talked to her like this.
So Mia writes him, pretending to be the woman he desires.
It's her one dark thrill in her dull, solitary small-town life.
The man is in prison for another fifteen years.
It's harmless. She is safe enough.
Until he escapes.
