I love this beautiful cover. THE EXCESS series, by Angelica Chase, starts off slowly but then gains some speed that will leave you panting ;o)
I was curious
as to what had made the female character in this short story so rich or how Devin,
her lover-turned-sour, had become a bastard when at first he had been so
wonderful.
Nina is
disappointed with life as success has brought more deceit and betrayal than
money. Wealthy, but lonely, she tries to disentangle herself from the man who
made her fall in love before it all turned to lies and manipulation.
I liked that
Nina felt the need to change her fake lifestyle. A strong character overcomes
her weaknesses to find a better way for her even in the face of temptation.
Things start
to heat up when she meets Aiden, a gorgeous singer who rocks her world. Despite
her secrets, he also is a bit of a mystery. I enjoyed the story more as this
new relationship goes from softly arousing and romantic to hotly possessive. The
text messages they share are also very cute and funny.
Paired with
the steamy scenes and Nina's business affairs, this first part becomes quite
entertaining. I'm now curious enough to want to read more after that bit of an
abrupt ending.
