Double review: Three Nights with a Rock Star and Uninhibited

Hey, book buddies! It's a lovely day here in Spain. After a long week, I just want to relax a bit but I have some reviews to share with you today and a few posts to get ready for next week.

That's exactly, crazily and overwhelmingly what Hailey does when she dresses up like a groupie and storms into a hotel where a famous rock band is partying through their stay.

Why is it all crazily absurd and sexy?

- Hailey is a school teacher

- She agrees to sign a non-disclosure contract

- She's having wild sex with a stranger in exchange for free access to the hotel and the band to find out who her sister's baby's father is.

I absolutely agree that his premise is twisted, but oh-so-funny and steamy that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to read the deed.

Why is Lock sexy?

- He is pure rock star

- He's charismatic, dominant and a pleasure-source

- He's broken in ways that need female attention

Lock has breathed this kind of music idol life since he was a kid. After too many mistakes, booze and scandal, he's barricaded himself behind rough sex and a contract to keep bad publicity at bay. When Hailey shakily agrees to explore the exotic side of sensuality with him, they go at it hard.

I must  tell you that three days of them locking bodies and sharing emotions was incredible reading material. I love the author's free, poetic, breathless writing style.

What's more, there's another amazing story in the lot. Not only can we fall through the hole of the good girl going wild with the bad rock star boy. Chloe, the pregnant sister, is battling her own demons too. She won't say who the baby's father is because the truth is much more complicated than a one-night stand with a sexy musician. No, the mystery goes beyond that. And it completely thrilled me. That story is beautiful, so full of longing and unrequited love and difficult choices.

Thanks to the melting sensuality of the authors' prose, it was kind of cool how the contract served to liberate a part of Hailey's personality. She'd been responsible all her life to take care of her little sister, but now she was free to let out her wanton desires for once.

As the hours of those fateful three days tickle by, Lock and Hailey become more daring with their encounters. Everything was more provocative, more liberating, more soul-changing. When Lock goes on stage, Hailey is there to share the electrifying experience step by scorching-hot step.

Then, things get out of control. You won't  imagine the kind of naughty, playful games that take place after the concert. Surprises that will tingle you everywhere. And so much more!

The heat becomes unbearable. I can't say I'm keen on this kind of sexfest, but the authors make it work with their touching, intoxicating prose. It's all more complicated than just skin though. These characters use their bodies to connect to each other, or to hide those scary connections.

When reality breaks into the fantasy with a crashing betrayal, Krist, Lock and Hailey have to face their deepest feelings. I relished the drama, the frustrating separation and the most romantic ending that these wild characters deserve. I'm totally hooked on this author's style and ideas. Wonderful story if you're willing to go over the unconventional side of sexy romance.

Boy, how I love a kick-in-the-gut start. That was a first chapter to pump blood into the veins of a dead saint. Loved. It.

Now onto the story. With a present tense that provides a fast pace, Uninhibited, by Melody Grace, is a passionate romance that comes packed with beautiful quotes.

One step from oblivion, two steps from the end.

Wanting to meld his mouth to my body, shuddering on the edge of an infinity only he can provide.

How I can feel his emotions like they were my own.

Unrequited love. That's so tough. I felt very sympathetic towards Alicia's plight. She's been deeply in love with Hunter since college, but it's hopeless.  His heart belongs to another. In the meantime, Alicia has to witness that devotion from the friendship zone. That hurts. I like her because she's in that tricky spot between two completely different selves: does she cling to predictable, to unattainable? Or does she jump into the heady danger of the unknown?

The unknown comes in the form of a sexy, irresistible rocker with a shadow in his heart.

I like Dex because he's intense, honest, bold, and he treats Alicia with the most staggering combination of heat and tenderness.

The more I read, the more I enjoyed the narration. Beautiful sensations came about in my consciousness thanks to the author's words. The burning they can elicit with just a kiss!

It was exhilarating to see how their passion builds up so hotly. Alicia is trying her wings at freedom after a life being held down by her locked desires. Meanwhile, Dex is fighting his memories of the person he used to be on tour.

Favourite parts:

- Dex is sweet towards Alicia, he taunts her inhibitions softly to exorcise them, he's the catalyst to her repressed needs.

- The intimacy they share at the beach house during their time together is gloriously erotic.

- Being in love for a long time without any emotional reward is a really tough thing, so Alicia is now opening up to new possibilities attempting to be a little bit bold and grab what she deserves

- The ironic part is that Dex is also holding back from life because of a hidden guilt that crushes his soul. When he finally opens up to Alicia, it's a heart-wrenching moment.

- And oh, my, the feverish, beautiful lovemaking!

And then the two worlds that Alicia has desperately tried to keep apart just collide and explode. That was amazing! Her previous love and the reckless love can't seem to coexist in her mind. The aftermath is so emotional  and gut-wrenching. I loved it!

This is a sexy novel that deals with how damaged people can rescue each other through love. It's beautiful and sensual. And Melody is a writer that's gone straight into my favourites' list!
