MY OPINION
Perfect romance. I think the whole plot and the characters are deeply real and heartfelt. Such a beautiful story. One of my favourites from this author in terms of authenticity and feeling.
It's got a hot dad with an adorable child, a sunny woman with a big heart, the lively city of London as background, luxury and Europe and age-gap passion. It is exciting and sensual and funny. And it is so much more. Gabriel is a good man, an incredible dad, and is carrying pain and burdens that he hasn't even acknowledged. Autumn is his daughter's nanny. She is a strong woman who is looking for her place in the world, yet she is also light and hope that cleanses his soul after years of neglect and darkness.
This relationship that seems so inappropriate starts beautifully sweet despite his aloof attitude, filled with lovely family times and funny situations and charming dialogues. I really loved that the sensual attraction they share is also rooted in the many, meaningful ways they complement each other. What's more, his friends and her sister play a significant role in their lives and add support, teasing, and love to the equation. Hollie and Dexter, from the previous book, get their shining moment too and I appreciated it very much.
I think the author took a big risk in using the drama card to put this new love to the test and push the characters to grow. It was a testament to their real bond, but also to how important it is to solve the past and the demons that haunt us in order to be free to move on in the right direction. Gabriel and Autumn pass the test with flying colours because they make the tough choices and learn and then claim the happiness that is due. It is a gorgeous romance that you will utterly enjoy with body and soul.
