MY OPINION

Lyrical, provocative and dancing on the edge of dark drama. I'm always down for this author's romcoms, yet when she writes these novels filled with beautiful words and sad themes, she excels and I'm happy.

Forbidden romance between a girl who aspires to become a poet and his soon-to-be stepbrother who's drowning in his dark past. Easy to read, yet packs some intense feelings. Family secrets, toxic entanglements, the clash between public image and private pain. The characters feel a powerful connection, but they have to deal with expectations and self-destruction. Or are there some twists that change everything for them?

I really liked the heat this couple shares, and their undeniable feelings mixed with a terrible family circus. Pretty little poems abound as well as a hard-earned realisation of their worth.
