Hi, book buddies :-) How are you doing? If you like suspense and thrill in your romances, you're in for a treat. J. KENNER has written a great story that I recommend.

MY OPINION

Gritty, thrilling, and bittersweet.

Liam and Xena are one tough couple. This suspenseful romance has two main characters with a deeply painful past. I could understand his life being independent from relationships because he lost hard too soon. Yet it's her experiences which really made my heart squeeze and weep. Especially as she recounted her harrowing memories in one liberating scene.

This story deals with sensitive issues of abuse and running for your life, and it also shows a strong woman who has learned to survive through it all. I think the whole story is gripping from the world of famous singers who face threats to the security expertise used in investigating the evils at large.

There's action, clandestine crime, two people helplessly falling in love, and a message of tenacity against adversity. It's also sensual and emotional. The interrracial romance is a bonus for me!

I loved the scenes where the security team work together, and girls' time too with the sweet camaraderie. It's very endearing the way that Xena finds the courage to claim her own pleasure and Liam treats her so thoughtfully.

He leads a dangerous life and she’s running from danger, but somehow they connect with heart and heat. They are both bleeding from emotional wounds, and it feels important and trascendent the way they face not only their demons, but the truth about their need for love.

So it's a suspenseful journey to safety full of top-notch technology, amazing appearances of Damien and Dallas and Jane (from other books equally interesting), and a strong ending that still manages to be edgy and happy. Great story.

It was a beautiful face, albeit in an unusual kind of way. The kind of face that probably photographed incredibly well, but in real life seemed a little too sharp, an effect that was softened by a smattering of freckles across her nose and cheeks as well as by her hypnotic blue eyes.

She wore skinny jeans and a white tank top, which clearly revealed that she was about as flat as your average twelve-year-old boy. Even in the flirty black dress she’d worn at Ellie’s party, she’d looked delicate. Ephemeral. As if he could break her with nothing more than a hug. He’d imagined her in his arms, their limbs entwined. His black skin in stark contrast to her pale white, so delicate she probably burned if she even thought about the sun. He wanted her under him, her fragile body crushed beneath him, her heart skittering in passion as she surrendered, trusting him not to hurt her despite his power to do exactly that.

She’d wanted him, too; he was certain of it. He’d seen it in her eyes. He’d heard it in her breath. But he’d known damn well that he’d never risk having her, not knowing where it might lead and what demons he might unleash.

What an intense suspense romance!

Hi, book buddies :-) How are you doing? Today, I want to share my opinion of Shattered wWith You, by J. Kenner, an intense romantic suspense that was gritty and very passionate.  I hope you enjoy it ;-)

MY OPINION

Suspense, tension, seed y underground crime, and an emotional romance that's alive with passion, betrayal and crushing secrets. 

I always crave a new book by JK. She writes with elegant power and undeniable sensual intent. Still, I was caught by surprise by this magnificent blend of torn romance and tortured characters who love each other yet are forced apart against their very core needs. 

The male character, Quince, is deep into criminal investigations that lead him to dark corners of human nature. When he bumps into a ghost from the past in the middle of a mission, all his guilt and pain resurface in the face of all he's lost. 

There are some raw scenes about Eliza's cruel past and the beautiful, cut-too-short relationship in London that explain the background of both characters. The current action is about finding Eliza's sister as it crosses with Quince's investigation. It's filled with suspense and angst for lost times and the mystery of why they couldn't stay together. 

I loved that, and I suffered for the characters' many sorrows. Through grit and clever thinking, they reach a climax of brutal action and great closure. It was phenomenal. Just as seeing the whole Stark Security team working together with Intel and spy technology. 

The seed was planted for the next story and I bet it's going to be thrilling :-D

You acted like you just wanted to send me on my way.” “I’ll tell you what I want,” he said, bending lower and speaking softer. But not so soft the driver couldn’t hear. “I don’t just want to go home with you. I don’t simply want to fuck you. I want to claim you, Eliza. I want you to surrender completely. To give me your trust entirely.” “I don’t understand. I don’t know what that means.” “I think you do. I want control.” He brushed my lips with the pad of his free hand. “To take you how I want you. It's time to become a Sexy Little Sinner

Hi, book buddies :-) It's already Thrusday. This is going fine :-D

MY OPINION

Sensual and addictive.

An age-gap romance works well for me, especially in this case because this novella adds action, deception and true feelings to the mix.

The couple works together at a security company. Even though they broke up a year ago, the chemistry is a wild, untamed thing between them. Yay! :-D

Entirely from Connor's POV, it's palpable how strong his belief is that he's protecting her by staying away due to his age and the repercussions that could cause in her future. He fears for her happiness and to be the source of her grief. 

I loved the suspense plot as they go undercover for the firm. It's a perfect excuse for some interesting spying work in a very unsual and provocative environment. However, it is also an opportunity for them to explore their scorching-hot connection with some pretty good steamy scenes. And feelings begin pouring out of their restriction zone.

It's a fun, sexy and smart story with a man who finally learns to let go of fear and embrace the chance at love. I also adore the author's sleek style. I think it's my favourite couple so far in this series. Keep it on!

MY OPINION

Every time I see his name, Damien Stark, I perk up and tingle. I suppose there's a little bit of Nikki in me ;-)

Have you met this couple yet? You should. They are explosive, intense and they are in love. This true connection shines through every page in this novel which I admit I was craving like hot chocolate because it's narrated with grit and passion from this man's perspective. He is raw, stark naked in his feelings of failure and victory, of deep love and powerful commitment to his family.

The author takes a father's need to protect his family into an honest portrait of his crippling fears, but also his unrelenting fight to protect, nurture, and prove himself the best husband and dad.

It's a story that reflects the aftermath of many dramatic hurdles that he overcomes with resilience alongside his wife and children. Amid the memories of past struggles, the characters connect through heartfelt dialogues and their ardent passion. The threats continue to assault this family that I've come to care for, and I really enjoyed the tension and how

 everyone joined forces to find out who was responsible. There are some surprises and gut-wrenching realizations. Full-throttle danger and sacrifice right till the end.

"Damien" is a superb addition to the Stark universe. One that cannot be missed!

He started to lash out. To pound his fist against the door frame. But he pulled back, not wanting to wake Nikki or the two little angels curled up next to her in their bed. His wife. His precious little girls. His family. As much as he loved Nikki, he hadn’t truly understood how full his heart could be until he’d held Lara in his arms for the first time. And though he hadn’t expected it was possible, his heart had expanded even more when he watched Anne’s birth two years ago and saw her draw that first breath. Every day, his daughters looked up at him with wide, guileless eyes. And every day, he felt that punch in the gut. A fear that he couldn’t live up to the trust he saw there.
