Mi primera incursión en Dirty Books: Encaje y seda

Saludos, Literarios. Hoy vengo con una entrada en español para contaros que, entre mis andanzas por Facebook, al que soy (desesperadamente) adicta, me topé con una propuesta para reseñar libros publicados por Dirty Books. 

Son libros digitales que se distinguen por ser eminentemente sensuales, algunos de los cuales incluyen el romance, pero no se limitan a él. Ni qué decir tiene que el tema me intriga, aunque yo soy firme defensora del romance y es mi gran condición para leer escenas de alto voltaje. 

Voy a hacer el experimento a ver qué tal me va.

Me decidí por ENCAJE Y SEDA, de Sophie West, porque es una historia que pica mi curiosidad. Sigue la antigua y recientemente revalorizada moda de las entregas en episodios cortos, algo que yo adoro y estoy acostumbrada gracias a las novellas y serials en inglés.

Abigail Rossi es una mujer muy ocupada. Como dueña y CEO de una cadena de tiendas de lencería, ha de tomar muchas decisiones a lo largo del día, y está sometida a mucho estrés. Cuando Elliott empieza a trabajar como su ayudante personal, una irresistible atracción se apodera de ellos.Pero aunque Elliott es un hombre que en el trabajo no tiene ningún problema a la hora de recibir órdenes de su jefa, en la cama es dominante, autoritario, casi despótico... precisamente lo que Abigail necesita.¿Serán capaces de mezclar trabajo con placer, sin que surjan problemas entre ellos?

Me ha gustado el comienzo en que relata esos primeros momentos de atracción entre dos personajes, esos roces no verbalizados que te ponen en situación. Sólo después presenta a la protagonista y surge ese contexto especial.

Lo que ya me gusta menos es que cuando la cosa marchaba, se detienen para formalizar contratos y órdenes como si el deseo fuera una moneda de cambio. Corta un poco el rollo, además de recordar a otros ejemplos más famosillos.

Pasando ese escollo, reconozco que ha sido divertido entregarme a los juegos de control y rendición entre Elliot y Abby. Sus diferentes edades y posiciones sociales comportan que rompan muchos tabúes cuando dan rienda suelta a sus deseos más desbocados.

Con ellos, el lector se adentra en las fauces eróticas del BDSM mientras la narrativa sólida se refocila en escenas de cama muy gráficas.

Este primer episodio es una introducción a ese mundo en apariencia sórdido al que Abby se somete para liberar sus hombros de las responsabilidades, dejándose llevar por el descubrimientos de placeres poco ortodoxos de manos de su subordinado.

La inversión de papeles juega a favor del morbo. Al igual que el final de esta primera parte que deja un sabor a misterio y promesa perfecto para desear continuar la exploración de Encaje y Seda.

My opinion of these novellas

In these alarmingly short stories, Christmas is the perfect excuse to be naughty. A sexy little costume and a jerk are to blame for two friends reacting to their long denied attraction.

In truth, it's fun, cute and sexy and I liked both novellas, but it's difficult to review something that is 16 pages long.

The context is set in a precise and funny way, the writing style is also straight to the point, though at times I was confused about whose perspective was telling the story.

Crossing the boundaries of friendship can have consequences but Brad and Juliette can no longer deny the heat when they're stranded together on Christmas Eve with no prospect of family or reunions in the near future. One very hot night leads to an awkward morning after.

Despite Juliette's misgivings about what it would mean to their friendship to spend the night together, things escalate to unexpected experiences. Neill, one of Brad's friends, joins them in the fun. I liked this second novella even better. It's saucy, sexy as hell and surprisingly arousing.

Juliette is not into threesomes with another woman, but two men all for her own pleasure is an opportunity she won't let go. Brad is open for it as long as she's willing. He and Neill display a lot of sensitivity, imagination and skill when it comes to make her erotic dreams come true.

Perfect for a little escapade into the naughty side of Christmas.

Este relato corto, REDEEMED BY YOU, (redimido por ti), de K. A. M'Lady, es una mezcla de fantasía y ciencia-ficción con razas vampíricas de protagonistas. Tiene muchos personajes, cuyos fantásticos nombres ni me atrevo a recordar. Con un aire a lo gesta heroica, resulta un poco confuso porque la autora hace uso de un lenguaje metafórico que, aunque hermoso, me ha liado bastante. Supongo que se añade el hecho de que se alternan los pensamientos de varios personajes  al mismo tiempo y es la tercera parte, puesto que hay otros dos relatos por delante. Las historias anteriores estaban protagonizadas por algunos que ahora vuelven a surgir, continuando las consecuencias de sus aventuras. En cualquier caso, rebosa fantasía y erotismo. 

Cuenta la búsqueda del alma gemela de dos hombres y una mujer, lo que al final se convierte en un trío, porque su verdadero destino y la culminación de su poder se hallan en completar el "trion". Son un guerrero de una de las familias gobernantes, un mercenario vampiro de la raza de los Elder y una portadora de la muerte que concede el descanso eterno a los moribundos.  Nunca se han conocido, sus caminos están repletos de dolor y desilusión, pero el destino les llama desde el instinto y harán cualquier cosa por encontrarse.  

Viven en un planeta con varias lunas, desolado tras la Gran Guerra. Las familias gobernantes gozan de talentos sobrenaturales, pero les corrompe el ansia de poder y la codicia.
