MY OPINION
It’s
impossible not to fall in love with this couple. Their story is gorgeously
intimate, sweet in every way, and pulsing with sizzling sensuality.
I’d been eagerly
waiting for more Blackstone books like a stalker :-D And I’m so happy with the
fruit of my patience.
This is the
kind of love story that simmers for years and then erupts suddenly with
undeniable force and irrevocable need.
Winter has
been in love with James since her teen years, yet it is the hardened lawyer’s
desires that I could feel in full force. Such passion, such manly presence. The
best thing is that his behavior and feelings towards her were always tender,
ultraprotective, and amorously selfish and generous at the same time.
It was keenly
pleasurable to see the relationship develop from friendly acquaintance to
fervent admiration and then feverish belonging. They slowly discover that they
love each other, and I loved every minute of it. Being able to delve into both
characters’ thoughts allowed me to feel the intimacy of everything. The
longing, the protectiveness, the craving, the claiming.
Also, it was
captivating the way circumstances led Winter and James on a path of care and
ardent love, always told in the beautiful words of a sensitive writer.
Winter is a
woman with a good, good soul that shines in the compassion she shows to
everyone. I really liked that side of her. The Blackstone brother from the
first novel appears too, along with much family drama and some shocking events
that really moved me.
It all wraps
up with emotion and true romantic bliss. I loved it, and I just wish there are
many more Blackstone romances to come and share their uniqueness.
