May I introduce a French Ambassador to you?

I wouldn't mind meeting this particular Frenchman ;o) This is the book I've been wanting to read for quite a while now, so I didn't hesitate to give it a try.

The Ambassador & Me...
an Unlikely Love Story
Author: Mia Villano
Release Day: August 11, 2015
ebook, 194 pages
by Mia Villano Books

Isabella Piori is twenty six years old, beautiful, feisty and smart. The daughter of a loving Italian family, she has never left the family business. Although her family is against her leaving, Isabella pursues a career outside as the assistant to the French Attaché. This is a job of her dreams working at the French Embassy and pursuing her own career. The one thing Isabella was not looking for was Fabrice Arbidoux, the French Ambassador.

The night of the Starlight Gala, Isabella meets the man who will change her life in ways she never could imagine. Recently out of a relationship that caused her much pain, Isabella isn’t ready to fall in love. Though, there is something about Fabrice Arbidoux that she finds overwhelmingly attractive. The way he speaks, carries himself and the power he exudes all make Isabella sexually aware of her need to be with him. He can’t keep his eyes off of her during the gala, and the sexual tension is high the next Monday when she starts her job.

When the Ambassador can’t hold back his feelings for her, she runs, afraid this will ruin her career she has tried so hard to achieve. After taking some time to think about it, Isabella realizes maybe a sexual relationship with no strings attached is what she needs. One night she accepts his invitation for a date and things heat up. When he takes her back to his house, they give in to their lust for each other, but it is not what Isabella expected.

Fearing that he may have issues, Isabella insists that he tell her what’s wrong, and Fabrice comes clean with a secret he was afraid would push her away.

Isabella has a secret as well, and one she is not ready to tell him just yet.

An unforgettable story of two people looking for true love and happiness from different lives brought together for one thing, true love. It is a story of what life can be like if you open your heart and mind to something new and wonderful.

MY OPINION

A sensual romance in the middle of international politics. How can you say no to that? I didn't, of course. So I had a delightfully decadent time reading about a French Ambassador who teaches delicious lessons in carnal love to an Attaché's assistant of Italian descent.

From the very start, every scene oozes an intense sensuality. At a gala where the couple first meets, at the Embassy where their attraction barely resists the rules of propriety, and finally when they get alone and cannot help themselves and succumb to a hot, wet first kiss. Add to that a sexy French accent, fervent dialogue, and plenty of arousing passion, and you have a recipe for non-stop page turning.

I liked Avery, she's Isabella's roommate and she's as funny as free-spirited. The Ambassador had a couple of issues that heated up the bedroom scenes. Also, Isabella hid a turbulent past that came back to haunt her. As to the writing style, it's direct and casual, setting a brisk pace when it comes to the suspense or the romantic situations.

Sometimes, I didn't care much for so much family description or for her tantrums when Isabella thought herself dumped. Anyway, family is an important part of the novel as she goes for them for advice on her problem from the past. I couldn't understand  why she would keep all that under the radar for so long. After all, it was pretty intense.

As the story progresses, secrets keep popping up in between a little drama, potential for scandal, and lots of sexy encounters. Now, it's a question of waiting for the next novel to find out if the plot lines explode in their faces or they will finally have a true love story.

Ready to be teased...?
