Hi, book buddies! :o) How are you doing? I'm happy to bring you my opinion about a very cute book I've read recently. I was eager to try Layla Hagen's writing since I interviewed her a while ago. This series of stand-alone novels is worth our time, believe me.
It’s nicely
written in a casual style that turns intensely hot when addressing intimate
moments, and deeply touching in sensitive matters.
The steamy
times are extremely entertaining and go from original to hot and hotter. I
thought Parker was hiding a couple of secrets and that’s why he had poor
Jessica confused about his attitude towards her. And my, good secrets! And hers
too ;o)
After all, he
seems to be the perfect gentleman but he teases her or chastises her for being
irresponsible. However, Jessica also hides a past that renders her cold and
aloof when prodded. That made me very curious about both of them as characters.
In addition, I kept wondering if that web of secrets would entreat them to each
other or would become an insurmountable obstacle.
Another thing
that I liked about Jessica is that she’s a wild creature, but she’s trying so
hard to overcome her party days and make a life on her own. She studied art and
now works in a museum in London, two positive points in my mind. She’s intent
on proving herself to her family, she’s a good friend. I like her on all
accounts, excerpt that she smokes. I know, I’m a bit of a snob, I just can’t
tolerate that awful smell ;o)
Anyway, I
loved her sense of humour, and Parker does too. That’s one of the reasons he’s
so attracted to her, her shiny disposition. I understand that craving for light
and stimulation very well.
Jessica is
sharing a flat with Dani, a young girl who’s tasting the forbidden side of
teenager freedom. Her family is concerned for her as she had some trouble in
the US, and I felt that this situation was casting a shadow of threat over the
plot and it would eventually mean a turning point for our cute couple’s
relationship. Jessica’s fear of deep feelings is another thing that makes her
so real and human. You can have fun and get hurt, but how more devastating is
it when you truly care for someone?
I was
surprised by how beautifully romantic Found in Us turns out to be. The
emotional connection between Jessica and Parker is deep, meaningful, rooted in
their fears and needs and how to fight the former to fulfill the latter. All
their past mistakes come forward to test their resolve, all their differences
resurface to challenge their belief that they ultimately fit each other.
Found in UIs
is a beautiful romance full of fun, sexiness and a great ending that rounds up
what happened to the characters in Lost in Us and sets the mood for the next
couple in Caught in Us. Wonderful series!

**This
can be read as a STANDALONE. The second book in the Lost series tells Jessica
and Parker’s story.**
All
Jessica wants -as a college graduate — is to be a good girl. She landed the job
of her dreams at a museum and is trying to eliminate temptations. No more short
skirts (when she can help it). No wild parties. And no men.
She
particularly excels at that last thing. . .
Until
her path crosses Parker’s. Again. Jessica remembers the last time their paths
crossed very well. She was left with a seriously bruised ego. She knows it
would be best to avoid him altogether. But the charming Brit makes it hard for
her to elude his electrifying pull. He is as irresistible as he is captivating.
And
enigmatic.
Because
underneath the sleek Armani suit and the sweet British accent that makes her
crave his touch, Parker isn’t the perfect gentleman everyone thinks he is.
He’s
exactly what Jessica doesn’t want, but desperately needs.
A bad, bad boy.
A bad, bad boy.
