Hi, book buddies :-) I continue to read the new trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones. I can't miss it :-)  This second book is filled with emotional angst and a couple of twists in the plot. Let's do it!

MY OPINION

Intense, sensual and addictive. The author has crafted a good bridge between two books. Tyler and Bella's stormy romance continues with high stakes. 

It's a rush of emotional frustration and adrenaline. These characters are pulling and pushing in the middle of a highly charged crossroads. Feelings confronted with an airtight challenge do not breed trust nor room for intimacy, and this makes for a second book that's electrified with chemistry and trouble.

Are they really in love or is it a case of lust infused with practical necessity? I enjoyed this second part because the characters are trying to untangle their own emotions through a tense and complicated liaison. When they finally realise their connection is as much about feelings and intimacy as it is about a threat to their livelihood, the bomb explodes in the form of a tough cliffhanger.

So, I think most of the book is devoted to a tug-of-war between the characters, and the plot advances mostly at the end. It might be unbalanced in that regard, but the characters might have needed that space to reach a true understanding of their relationship as they went deeper into the problem at hand. 

It was a good read. Also, it was great to see the interactions with Bella's brother. Dash is such a good brother. He really shines in his role here. And Bella has a new presence in her life that's also a lovely addition to the book. I look forward to the final book!
