Do you have a DEATH WISH?

Hi, book buddies :-) Do you read stories about villains who get the woman of their dreams? It's such an underrated subgenre :-D I love it!

          Synopsis:

All I wanted is for my little sister Della to be safe and happy. And maybe, in brief stolen moments, I dreamed of a happy ending for myself with a brown-eyed man. That hope has turned into sharp, bright fear. There’s only survival now.

I’m the daughter of a controlling and cruel billionaire, so I understand about power. But I find myself fighting anyway. I find myself testing them.

I have claws and I bite. I’m not going down without a fight.

It’s like I have a death wish.

MY OPINION

Brutal, unbearably hot, and one gulp of twisted romance I didn't know I thirsted for.

Wow. The terror triplets deliver the right amount of crazy and lust without losing their style. I devoured this finale of the duet with immense curiosity and satisfaction. The previous book ended on a terrifying note that reaches its highest pitch in a few nerve-wracking first chapters.

But oh, the mystifying brand of erotic horror works so well in this author's hands. Scout is a brute with a particular kind of psycho personality, and he brandishes it with fearsome finesse. His two brothers, Sully and Sparrow, provide an entertaining and much needed balance. I loved the dynamics between a defying Landry and the besotted three brothers who take and give in equal measures.

It's true that lust and coercion morph into a world of its own in this novel. There are some intimate scenes that will heat up the pages like tinder. Amazing! However, the plot delves into the real type of forced submission and trauma that vulnerable girls suffer, and it's awfully intense and sad. So it's an interesting take on what real monsters are like in comparison to the villains in this story who love and protect their woman. It's a harsh contrast that makes for a gripping dark romance.

Landry suffers too much, but she also finds a new courage born from the unique relationship she has developed with the triplets. Inspiring and fitting. I enjoyed everything from Scout's mind that makes a sort of odd sense, to the evolution of shared love, to the little sister's place in this family, to the vicious plot twist at the end followed by the sense of accomplishment that comes from all the characters getting what they deserve. And even though the triplets were terrible in another book in the Midnight Dynasty series, I kind of like it that they get their bizarre redemption.
