MY OPINION
This book never stops riding the wave. It's pure adrenaline and snap-quick decisions. Superb tension and life-changing emotions.
I've loved meeting Adrian and his demon-infested conscience. He's a good guy who has done bad deeds in the name of a greater good, and his soul has paid the price. Thanks to the writer's craft, he's met his match in Priscilla, the incredibly brave attorney assistant. They really fight for their happiness together here. It's a tough choice to love someone in their world when it could mean death.
The evil biker gang boss chases after them with all weapons at his disposal and it becomes a tortuous quest for survival. Really intense from the start and a fabulous tour-de-force to end this high-stakes trilogy. I think she shows real strength and determination to put Waters in jail despite all she is risking: her life, the love of her life, her parents. I admired her all along, and that scene in the bathroom is both intimidating and empowering. Brava!
Adrian is reluctant to show all the darkness of his undercover work to her. When he confesses to her how his undercover job ended, with all the violence and heart-rending outcome, it's a powerful scene. It's a pivoting moment for this couple who's found love in the midst of chaos. I loved seeing the Walker team and Savage again, they all work as a well-oiled machine.
The suspense kept me riveted to the pages. It's fraught with obstacles and shady adversaries at every turn, and both Pri and Adrian can't seem to win a respite, let alone the justice they seek.
As in real life, things don't pan out for them when Waters' corruption infiltrates everywhere. The last chapters are really dynamic with all kinds of twists and scares and mystery, though this couple's love and new family prevail in very passionate terms. I'm happy with how all ended.
The third and final book in a Walker Security trilogy featuring Adrian Mack...
He was dirty, then he was bad, now he's just plain wild. Like all the men of Walker Security, when he fell for his woman, he fell hard. Some might call his love for Priscilla a weakness, but you might as well call her a weapon.
