MY OPINION

What a good read. Office romance with a good plot and fantastic chemistry.

The story is light rom-com with a fluid narration, natural humour and an agile pace thanks to the double POV which I really dig.

What starts as a war of gender and work status becomes a fun, sensual relationship where both characters get to know each other and surprisingly find out good things that change their minds about other personal issues. Such as female empowerment at work, which was quite interesting to see how it affected the all-powerful Enzo and his views.

I liked the easy banter among the three Mancini brothers, they're funny together. They made me laugh, also sometimes cringe at their manly craziness, and made me wish they had their own stories.

Despite his faults, Enzo turns out to be a reformed bachelor to root for. I loved his inner dialogue.

I absolutely adored the ad campaigns at work as the frame for both their falling in love and the conflict. The dialogues are perky, the characters feel real and sweet and endearingly flawed. With no effort, I started to befriend them while they challenged each other with talent, wit and passion.

It's a very entertaining read, full of funny moments, adorable families, an engaging work environment and some steamy times to colour it all.

AN EXCERPT TO ENJOY

“Please. Come on, Mr. Mancini.”

Even I notice how weird that sounds coming from her mouth now that our working relationship has turned into more of a tenuous friendship. “Enzo.”

“If I call you Enzo, can I pay my share?” She bats her eyes a few times.

I twist my lips, thinking about it. The taxi driver huffs, annoyed that we’re holding him up. “Sure.”

“Please, Enzo?” she says, stressing both words.

The sound of her voice saying my name like that spurs images of her naked on my bed, begging me to f*ck her. Her back arched, her delectable tits prominently on display with her legs spread. I shift in my seat to hide my growing hard-on.

She drops the forty dollars onto my lap and opens the door, leaving before I come back to myself. I lift the forty off my half chub, concocting a plan to get this back to her without her knowing it.

Her voice rings in my head one more time. Please, Enzo?

I might as well admit defeat. Tonight my dreams will be filled with me, Annie Stewart, and the word please.
