MY OPINION

Dark sensuality.

Harsh men, mafia violence and painful revenge. Features that this remarkable, intelligent, dark romance has in abundance.

I've read Prisoner by this author so I knew reading this book was a must for me. I can't find anything more compelling than the stories of three mafia prince brothers. What are their minds like?  Can enough light co-exist with the darkness to warrant  a woman in their lives?

This first book, which stands alone in the romance though expands the general arc into two more books,  introduces Aleksio and Viktor, two men distorted with grief and brutal trauma who are trying to find their youngest brother.

In their path to revenge against the man responsible for a life or murder, fear and violence, they grab one woman who is key to their goals and maybe their souls.

From the start, every page pulses with angry strategy. Aleksio is a formidable killer, powerful in his intent to find his little brother. I was aghast at first at his manhandling of Mira, but their bond painstakingly shines through scenes of horrific secrets and vicious measures. Despite the harshness, maybe because of it, the relationship between Aleksio and Mira is twisted, sensual and deeply emotional.

Yet beyond all the passion and the dark intimacy, this story is also a thriller with a convoluted plot about family ties and bloody monsters who stop at nothing to get power. With a strong narrative and a psychological insight about her characters, the author has created a fascinating mystery. Three brothers and the hell they go through to reunite, the mafia kingdom that awaits their claim and the impossible redemption they might find in the process. 

I absolutely loved every fast-paced scene full of despair, wild action, dirty passion, and a promise of two more stories to come that seem incredibly exciting. I can't wait to devour Viktor's adventure in Valhalla!
