My opinion
When it comes
to heroic hitmen, this author is the best option. Wow! And I mean really
impressive. This novel in particular has stolen my breath. I devoured it in one
day because I fell in love with the characters and their powerful bond.
Sadly, I
can't disclose the plot as it has a huge part in how awesome the story becomes
to the reader. Yes, the characters feel real and wonderful, yet the things that
happen to them and in the way they do make a genuine impact. I didn't expect
all the turns and they never stopped coming, even in the end there is a big
dramatic surprise that sweeps the couple up into a frenzy for their lives once
more. This mafia romance with a Russian hitman and a young gymnastics student
is one of a kind.
Brimming with
sweet prose and vivid description, it starts introducing Max in all his vindictive
glory. No hesitation, all sleek and lethal assassin skills, he is one man to be
remembered. Then we meet Liv, sheltered, small, smart and with a steady spirit
that will serve her well in the nightmare that awaits her in foreign lands. With
a double POV and a careful insight into all the main characters' personalities,
the story comes alive with excitement at the first taste of freedom, horror and
cruelty from one of the most vicious crimes in the world, and exhilaration at
the deadly rescue from a man who knows darkness but can also bring light.
The
relationship between Liv and Max is beautifully romantic at the same time is
pulses with violence, sensuality and redemption. I loved it. Hot? Oh, heah, but not overbearingly so. And I also loved
the superb action and fight scenes. They both have to face an enemy that lurks
in the shadows of pretty cities and makes them truly ugly. I think this is the
best book written by the author so far. It's really good and it's endlessly
entertaining. Go for it!
