MY OPINION

Every time I see his name, Damien Stark, I perk up and tingle. I suppose there's a little bit of Nikki in me ;-)

Have you met this couple yet? You should. They are explosive, intense and they are in love. This true connection shines through every page in this novel which I admit I was craving like hot chocolate because it's narrated with grit and passion from this man's perspective. He is raw, stark naked in his feelings of failure and victory, of deep love and powerful commitment to his family.

The author takes a father's need to protect his family into an honest portrait of his crippling fears, but also his unrelenting fight to protect, nurture, and prove himself the best husband and dad.

It's a story that reflects the aftermath of many dramatic hurdles that he overcomes with resilience alongside his wife and children. Amid the memories of past struggles, the characters connect through heartfelt dialogues and their ardent passion. The threats continue to assault this family that I've come to care for, and I really enjoyed the tension and how everyone joined forces to find out who was responsible. There are some surprises and gut-wrenching realizations. Full-throttle danger and sacrifice right till the end.

"Damien" is a superb addition to the Stark universe. One that cannot be missed!
